Home / Company Announcement / Massage Musings: Relaxation & Managing Stress

Stress is unavoidable and actually serves an important role in life as it promotes motivation, stimulates learning, and leads to personal growth.  When left unchecked however, stress can negatively impact our well-being.  Our “need-for-speed” culture and the technology that feeds it, doesn’t allow for much-needed periods of stress-free relaxation.  Add other life stressors to the mix, and it is of little surprise that stress avoidance is a major pursuit for many people these days.

Relaxation helps to counteract the detrimental effects of excess stress. Not only does relaxation feel good, it helps the body heal and restore itself.  We are re-energized, re-focused, and re-charged, and many of our clients receive massage for its relaxation and de-stressing benefits.

Massage has the greatest benefit when you receive it regularly. The more “practice” you give your body’s systems at functioning in a stress-free and efficient manner, the more “skilled” your body becomes at functioning optimally under challenging circumstances. Whether weekly, semi-weekly, or monthly, a program of regular massage will help your body relax and maintain its overall health.

What are some of the ways that you process stress?
